WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW: Get Down on Your Knees and Take One for the Team

You're Welcome was invited to cover the 2014 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. I met the most wonderful people and learned about the complicated politics behind this event. My absolute favorite was this sparkling disco ball,  Darla Sue Doherty handler of Castle, a Great Pyrenees and the runner up at the Westminster Dog Show 2014.

Hailing from the snowy tundras of the Pyrenees Mountains in the South of France, this is classified as a working dog and are largely nocturnal, sleeping all day and guarding their livestock at night. Known mostly as a watch dog for fancy French People's castles in the 1500's and known to also ferry contraband through the mountains this is one baller ass enormous canine. They have a strange third claw called a "dew plaw" that was thought to help them navigate the mountain terrain. I love Darla. I kept trying to shock her, and she was cool as a fried pickle. Nothing fazed her, even my offer of a threesome with her and her husband wasn't an issue. She looked like a combination of JonBenet Ramsy and Honey Boo Boo Child but somehow was a total class act.  The best part, she actually had a BUSY BEE!!!
